What is Flick?

Flick is a chat platform for sports influencers that allows you to turn your most engaged users into passionate fans. If you have a large following on Instagram, SnapChat or TikTok you can monetise your audience by creating your own branded hub on Flick where fans can talk to you and other fans directly.

Why is it good for Influencers?

Fans want to engage with a passionate Influencer. Your brand is far more than just an Insta handle, if you want to build a large community you need to interact with your fans - they love you and want to hear from you. Flick is your platform for that deeper engagement and gives you routes to monetization.

Why is it good for users?

Users want to connect to Influencers, they want a deeper discussion with the host of the brand they love so that they can talk about the latest trade news, breaking player news and especially want to chat during live games. Flick provides a natural home for your fans so that the community you've created can gather around the content they love consuming.

How do I get started?

Signup for Flick then from the Discover page tap on Create Group. From there you can add your brand assets and then set up Discussions, allowing users to chat around breaking news, the latest lineups, trade talk and live games. You also get a unique URL for your group so you can direct users to your group from Instagram and Snapchat.

What is a Chat?

A chat is a messaging thread on a theme. When you’re setting up your group, you'll want to set up some basic discussions such to get your audience participating in chats. The best groups start off with around 5 chat types. There are 3 main types of chat: 1. A general Discussion, 2. An Announcement 3. Live Chat. General chats are for every day chit chat, such as Introducing Yourself and Trade/Transfer Discussions. Announcement chats allow the host of the group to send the latest breaking news to your fans, use this for lineup confirmations, giveaway announcements etc - this is your channel to send direct push notifications to your fans. Live Chat are where things gets exciting, for live games set up a live chat and invite your users in to discuss what's going on during the game.

How do I delete a message?

Long press on the message - and select ‘Delete’ from the options shown.

What is a pinned message?

Each topic can have one pinned message that will stay at the header of the topic until removed or changed by the group host or by a moderator (with user permissions).

My Payment Setup didn't complete, what shoud I do?

How do I get a custom URL for my group? 

Once you've set up your group, you'll be given a custom URL tied to the name of your group (like http://flick.group/
YourGroupName). This is your unique URL to drive all your traffic to.

How do I add Admins or Moderators to my group? 

In Flick a group members role is either as an Administrator, a Moderator, or a Member. Defining roles are a great way to ensure your group’s content is on track and relevant. Administrators are able to turn Members into Moderators and are the Group Owner. Moderators are trusted Flick Members and Friends that aid in looking after your group Members are individuals who have joined your Group through finding an invite link.

What is a group code?

Your group code is the word that someone can use to join your group if they have already downloaded the Flick App. You can see your group code when you tap ‘Add People’.

How do I remove someone who’s acting inappropriately from my group?

Tap the members list in the header of the screen - scroll to the member you want to remove - tap 3 dot icon to the right of their name - select ‘Remove User From Group’ from the list.

How do I report someone who is acting inappropriately on the app?

Tap the members list in the header of the screen - scroll to the member you want to report - tap the 3 dot icon to the right of their name - select ‘Report User’ from the list.

How do I ask for help with the app?

Tap on the menu icon in the top left corner of the app, then tap your profile photo and tap on the link to send Feedback to Flick - that'll let you reach out to us directly and a member of our team will get back to you asap. Alternatively drop us an email on support@flickapp.com

How do I give an emoji reaction to a post?

Long press on the post - choose the emoji from the popup list 😀

How do I edit the group’s Avatar, Name and Welcome Message?

Tap settings cog to the top right of the screen - select 'Edit Group' from the pop up list - edit text under 'Name Your Group' or 'Welcome Message' or tap camera icon to change 'Group Avatar'.

What is the Hosts on Flick Group?

The Hosts on Flick Group is a group for all the Hosts and Group Admins on Flick. Helping you to: grow your group, get members engaging and start making money.

How do I set up Subscriptions for my group?

Once you've set up your group you can set up a premium section for subscribers - Once you've set up your premium subscriptions you can add a link within your group so that fans can subscribe. To set up your premium group follow the setup guide that's within the Flick Podcasters Group, or follow the steps in this blog post. It'll take you to Stripe which handles payment processing. We take a 10% commission on all payments handled through the app.

Once you've set that up you'll be given a unique link to allow your subscribers to support you through monthly payments. You can manage, cancel and refund subscriptions all within your Stripe portal.
